Carolee A. Long Thomas, 69 of Sugar Grove, IL (formerly of Decatur) passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando FL. She lived the winter months in Clermont, FL and the summer months in her Sugar Grove, IL home. She was born on September 28, 1943 in Chicago, IL the daughter of George and Vera Long. She married Ronald Thomas on July 1, 2005. Carolee enjoyed putting puzzles together and garage sales looking for that special item to be restored, which was a hobby she and her husband Ronald enjoyed. She attended First Baptist Church Orlando. In 2005 she retired from Verizon in Oakbrook, IL. She leaves behind her husband Ronald, son Jeffrey Edwards of Washington, IL, step-son Jevon Thomas and wife Danielle of Mt Zion, IL, sister Sandy Borders and husband Jerry of Clermont, FL, brothers Jerry Julian and wife Barbara of Harrisburg, PA, Richard Long and wife Sherry of Rancho Sante Fe, CA, Robert Long and wife Bianca of Grocer, NC, four step grandchildren, three nieces, four great nieces, one nephew and one great nephew. Her parents proceeded her in death. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will be Wednesday, May 15th at 10:00 AM at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home located at 2827 N. Oakland Avenue, Decatur, IL.
