Carol Shurlow

Carol Shurlow, 68, of Warrensburg, passed away August 21, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. CDC guidelines and social distancing will be followed and masks are required. Memorials in Carol’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 675 E Linton Ave, Springfield, IL 62703. Carol was born December 6, 1951 in Saginaw, MI, the daughter of Norman and Janet (Jones) Hebert. She married Wayne Shurlow on December 23, 1972 in Vassar, MI. Carol had a passion for nursing and was most passionate about her work as a hospice nurse for VNA Home Hospice where she worked until her retirement. She was an avid reader but most treasured time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wayne; children, Wendy (Steven) Gonzales of Buckeye, AZ, and Scott (Jessica) Shurlow of Rutland, VT; grandchildren, Jacob and Alexander Gonzales; siblings, David (Fatima) Hebert and Tracy (Steve) Englehart, both of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dan Hebert; and a niece, Kara Hebert.
