Carol L. Jones, 81 of Blue Mound Illinois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday November 3, 2018. A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday November 10, 2018 at Brintlinger and Earl funeral Home in Decatur, Illinois. Gravesite service and burial will follow after the Memorial Service, at Hall Cemetery on Mosquito Creek Road, north of Blue Mound, Illinois. Immediately after interment at Hall Cemetery, a buffet meal will be prepared for all attending at Dippin Merv’s Restaurant in Blue Mound. This was a favorite spot of Carols and we wish to honor her memory here with a nice meal.Carol was born on August 2, 1937 in St. Louis Missouri, the only child of Norman Edward and Marie (nee: Johnson) Wilson. After graduating High School, Carol attended University of Missouri, in Columbia Missouri, where she met the love of her life James T. Jones Jr. They were married on August 25, 1956 at Bethel Lutheran Church, in St. Louis Missouri. They celebrated with 47 years of marriage until his death in November of 2003. Jim and Carol’s marriage was blessed with three children; Norman T. Jones (Julie) of Blue Mound, Marie L. Souza of San Antonio TX., and James T. Jones III(Lisa) of Aurora Illinois. Carol and Jim were also blessed with six grandchildren: David J. Souza (Christina) Munich Germany, Dr. Ryan T. Jones, PhD (Dr. Shabnam Jones, PhD) of San Francisco, Lauren M. Souza of Fredricksburg VA, Amy E. Wilson(Kurt) Ft. Mill South Carolina, Adam C. Jones of Springfield and Matthew B. Moma (fiancé Laura) Mt. Zion. Carol also leaves two great grandchildren, Lily M. Souza of Munich Germany, and Cooper A. Wilson of Ft. Mill South Carolina. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Carol was an avid reader, and postcard collector. She was very knowledgeable of British Royal Family history. She regularly attended Bible Study at the Blue Mound Methodist Church as well as being affiliated with Blue Mound Rotary Club and Eastern Star.Carol will be missed for her love of her family, her smile for her friends, and her good cooking, especially her fried chicken. She leaves a family that faithfully believes in a life in heaven and we firmly believe she is in heaven with her husband, parents and extended family while waiting for her children to join her soon.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Blue Mound Memorial Library or Ansar Shrine in Springfield Illinois.
