Carla Franklin

Carla Franklin, 57, of Maroa, IL, passed away at 1:19 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the church. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Center of Central Illinois 210 W. McKinley Ave. Decatur, IL 62526. Carla was born June 30, 1955, in Decatur, the daughter of Carl E. and Sara Beth (Kornewald) Cater. She married Anthony C. Franklin on June 15, 2001. Carla was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed scrapbooking and crafts. Surviving are her husband Anthony of Maroa, IL; children Shannon L. Spears and husband Craig of Gulfport, MS, Shonna R. Willette and husband Kent of Tullahoma, TN, Tammi M. Franklin of Maroa, IL, and Scott Franklin of Dalton City, IL; six grandsons and two granddaughters; brothers Monte Cater and wife Bonnie of Martinsberg, WV, Mike Cater and wife Bev of Sparta, IL, and Gary Cater of Decatur, IL; and stepfather Richard Kornewald and wife Sandy of Dawsonville, GA. Carla was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Gage K. Spears. "
