Carla Ann Dempsey, 71, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Carla was born March 28, 1945, in Neosho, MO, daughter of Jess T. and Thelma (Hawk) Patterson. She married William “Skip” Dempsey on April 22, 1966 in Toledo, IL. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2007. Carla was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her loving children and grandchildren. She enjoyed country clogging, and playing cards and Bunco with her friends. Surviving are her children: Melissa (Craig) Duff of Maroa, IL, William Shawn Dempsey of Decatur, IL, and Patrick (Heather Black) Dempsey of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Drake Lambdin (Alyssa), Jaret Duff, Justin Dempsey, Riley Dempsey, Blane Dempsey, Halee Black and Bailee Black; and brother: Steve Patterson. Carla was preceded in death by her parents and husband Skip. "
