Carl Reynolds

Carl R. Reynolds, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Carl was born April 8, 1933, in Decatur, IL, the son of Siggle and Cressie (Amber) Reynolds. He married Ellen C. Stalcup on November 20, 1954 in Vincennes, IN. Carl retired from Maroa Unit 2 School District after 36 years as a teacher and Principal. He loved reading and gardening. Carl was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Carl is survived by his wife Ellen of 64 years; children K. Scot Reynolds and wife Denise of Canton, IL, Rene White and husband David of Decatur; grandchildren Brandon Reynolds and wife Kristen and their son Levi of LeRoy, IL, Rachel Honeyman and husband Robert of Dekalb, IL, Bayleigh White of Decatur; sisters Charlotte Pickett and husband Ray of Decatur, Carol Camp and husband Jim of Sun City, FL, Judy Switzer and husband Jim of Blue Mound. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and his Pekinese companion, Angel Grace.
