Carl F. Dresback, 85, of Oakley, IL, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117.Memorials may be made to The Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo.Carl was born June 22, 1930 in Monticello, IL, the son of Roy and Nora (Lewis) Dresback. He married Naomi Walker on September 8, 1950 in Cerro Gordo, IL. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2005.Carl was employed by Caterpillar, retiring after 30 years in 1985. He also owned and operated Cerro Gordo Lumber Company and was a developer of Carmi Court and Frantz Street. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoors. Carl was a member of the Piatt County Farm Bureau and UAW.He is survived by his children Gary (Charlotte) Dresback of Cerro Gordo, Loren (Amy McDermith) of Bement, Velma (Doug Brumleve) Dresback-Cox of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren Megan (Jacob) Shackleford of Oakley, James Cox of Cerro Gordo, Ashley (Tommy) Gerk of Decatur; great grandson Tyler Cox; brothers Bill (Elaine) Dresback of Cerro Gordo, Fred (Kenna) Dresback of Tuscon, AZ.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Naomi, two brothers and two sisters.
