C. Sue Howell left Tuesday, July 19, 2016 to meet her Lord with her family by her side. She fought a long and courageous battle against CADASIL.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Friday, July 22 at Hill Side Bethel Tabernacle. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL and one hour visitation before service time at the church.Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to the family or Hill Side Bethel Tabernacle.Sue was born in Hammond, IN on August 4, 1942 to Onal and Mona Epperson. She was one of seven children. Sue was a homemaker who enjoyed camping and taking care of her family. She became a foster parent in 1970 for DCFS. Sue married Larry Howell on August 11, 1977. Together they fostered many children over the years until retiring from that work in 2006 to care for other family. Sue attended Hillside Bethel Tabernacle for many years together with Larry, always doing anything they could to help with the Lord’s work.Sue is survived by her husband of 38 years, Larry; brothers, Richard (Susanne) Epperson of El Paso, TX, Gene (Donna) Epperson of Harristown, IL, and Charles (Madonna) Epperson of Bloomington, IL; sister, Karen (Ben) Olivia of Naperville, IL; children, Lorie (Tom) Sitman of Wellford, SC, Suzanne (Danny) Murphey of Decatur, and Kevin Lane of Decatur; step-children, Patrick Howell of Lake City, IL, Lisa Jinks (Danny Lehman) of La Place, IL, Rick Howell of Oreana, IL, Michael (Kathi) Howell of Cerro Gordo, IL; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Epperson; sister, Donna Quinn; and grandson, Christopher Fryman.Sue was a very special person who cared for many. She will be greatly missed. "
