Brenda Provence, 86, of Decatur, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 5:55 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Wes Feltner. There will be a meal following the service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church or to Unwed Mothers.Brenda was born on December 28, 1921, in Murrey, KY, the daughter of Van and Maggie Key. She married John A. Provence on February 24, 1947, in Granite City, IL.Brenda was a beauty operator for 15 years. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and of Stone Croft Ministries. Brenda was a homemaker and was a wonderful wife. She loved to golf, work with flowers, and enjoyed working at church and spending time with her friends.Surviving are her husband of 61 years, John of Decatur; brother Ed Key of St. Louis, MO; and sister Christine Held of Hockessin, DE.Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
