Brandon Hopkins

Brandon Lee Hopkins, 21, of Decatur, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Visitation will be 5-9 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family. Brandon was born July 20, 1994 in Decatur, the son of Brian L. Shelton and Heather M. Hopkins. He worked as a self employed mechanic. Brandon donated his organs through Gift of Hope, and saved 4 lives. Brandon’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Aunt Kara Fussner and to Gift of Hope and St. Mary’s Hospital ICU nurses. He is survived by the love of his life, Ashley Durbin of Decatur; mother Heather M. Yancey and husband Kurt of Decatur; father Brian L. Shelton and wife Carrie of Decatur; 4 sisters and 4 brothers; maternal grandparents, Sharon Willis and Glenda Yancey, paternal grandparents Cindy and Butch Blackwell and Carol Craig, all of Decatur; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brandon was preceded in death by his brother and great great grandpa, “Red”. "
