Boyce W. Pickett, 91, of Decatur, died 2:10 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Monday, April 29, 2013 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 PM Monday, April 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be within the family cemetery at Orr Cemetery in Green County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL. Boyce was born December 8, 1921 in Kemp, KY, the son of J.W. and Eunice V. (Orr) Pickett. Mr. Pickett was a veteran of the US ARMY serving during WWII from 1942-1945. On September 28, 1947, in Springfield, IL, he married Patricia Alice Cook. Boyce owned and operated Pickett's Grill in the Eldorado Bowl for 22 years and also operated Pickett's Painting Business. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 99 and American Legion Post 105. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter, raised bird dogs, and enjoyed bowling. He played baseball for the St. Louis Brown's Association and also volunteered as a Little League coach in Springfield and Decatur. Surviving are his three children, Mary Alice Pickett of New Port Richey, FL, David Pickett of Decatur, IL, Jamie Pickett of Decatur, IL; brothers Joseph Pickett of Nashville, TN, Frank Pickett of LaGrange, KY; and sister, Ruth Moore of Greensburg, KY. Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. "
