Bonnie Marie Burns, 66, of Decatur passed away July 31, 2020 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be 12:00 PM, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:45 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home. CDC guidelines and social distancing will be followed and masks are required. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials in Bonnie’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. Bonnie was born July 9, 1954 in Decatur, the daughter of Earl F. and Nora Elizabeth (Powers) Stathers. She married Michael W. Burns on June 16, 1973 in Decatur. Bonnie worked for Lake Shore OB/GYN for 10 years, retiring as office manager. She also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Newlin. She enjoyed playing bingo, and fishing. She liked watching Hallmark movies and was a league bowler. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael; daughter, Stacy Reddecliff (fiancée, Travis) of Clinton; brother, James (Karen) Stathers of Sullivan; sisters, Nora Titus of Windsor and Leah (John) Roddis of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronald Stathers; and brother-in-law, Michael Titus.
