Bob Kraus, 88, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017.Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL, with military rites conducted by Sangamon County Inter-Veterans Burial Detail.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sts. James and Patrick Parish, Catholic Charities, or Decatur Corps of the Salvation Army. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Bob was born in Steubenville, OH, the son of Henry Kraus III and N. Mary (Corley). He married Peggy (Willis) and she preceded him in death. Bob worked for Jibby’s in Sullivan and GSI in Assumption. He was an avid horseshoe player and won many trophies. Bob also loved fishing, bowling, riding his scooter, especially in the Nashville area, and enjoyed people. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran and member of VFW Post 99.He is survived by his siblings Jeanne (Ed) Tilley of Decatur, Lana (Roger) Mason of Latham, Larry Kraus of Decatur, Mike (Virginia) Kraus of Decatur; many nieces, nephews, and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy, special friend Eileen and family, sister-in-law Susan Kraus, brothers: Don, Danny, and Rosie, sisters: Betty (Jim) Keller, Kathy (Jerry) Doss, Marie Eversole, beautiful niece Sandi Pappas, and his beloved dogs Pixie and Little Bit.The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and aides at Lincoln Manor Healthcare and DMH Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to Bob. "
