Billy Mac White (Bill) passed away on April 11, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to: Charity of Choice Bill was born in Decatur, IL, the son of J. Everett and Josephine White on January 4, 1924. Bill and Jacque Dieckhoff were married in 1980 at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Shores. Bill was a graduate of Decatur High School and Millikin University. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and graduated in the top 1/4 of his class. Bill served in the Army in France during WWII. Anyone who knew Bill knew he was patriotic and often stated, "This is my country, right or wrong!". He was a retiree from the Illinois Power Company and golfing and fishing were his passions. Bill made two "hole-in-ones" while golfing with his buddies in Decatur. He was a two-time winner of the Decatur Golf Tournament, Senior Division. Bill and Jacque made several trips during their 33 year marriage. They spent their honeymoon on the S.S. Norway, traveled to Europe, the West Coast and Hawaii. The couple spent 22 winters in Orange Beach (Gulf Shores) Alabama. Bill organized golf outings and he and Jacque hosted luncheons, dinners and card parties for their "Snow Bird" friends. Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Jacqueline (Dieckhoff); his son David of Savoy; first cousin Edwina Robertson of Mobile, Alabama; stepdaughter Kathy York of Decatur; and stepson David Dieckhoff of Foley, Alabama. His first wife Wanda L. (Britton) and daughter Sheila White McLain preceded him in death. Bill "liked to be right." Jacque and David loved him unconditionally, but he was not always right. Rest in Peace Billy Mac. "
