Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Friendship Hill Retirement Home, Lovington, IL or Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL.Billy was born July 21, 1920, in Hammond, IL, the son of Ralph and Ellen (Wiggins) Traxler. He married Virginia G. Gist on March 31, 1949 in Taylorville, IL. She preceded him in death.Billy was a member of La Place Brethren Church. He was a WWII Army Veteran and worked for the Wabash Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1977. He loved gardening and cars.He is survived by his children Geraldine J. Traxler of Long Beach, CA; Jerry L. Traxler and wife Lynna of La Place, IL, Linda L. Helm and husband Jim of Kline, SC; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren; brother Ralph Traxler Jr. and wife Evelyn of Cerro Gordo, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, stepmother Gertrude, twin brother Tommy, brother Harold, and sister Rosemary Garvey.
