Beverly Hoots, 83, of Decatur, IL, died 12:30 P.M., Friday, December 9, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Monday, December 12, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery, Macon, IL. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice or American Cancer Society. Beverly was born June 13, 1928 in Dalton City, IL, the daughter of Howard and Mildred (Pasley) Bobbitt. She married Donald Edgar Hoots on October 25, 1947 in Dalton City, IL. He preceded her in death in 2010. Beverly was a member of Lampstand Presbyterian Church. She worked as an export coordinator at A.E. Staley, retiring after 30 years of service. Beverly enjoyed painting crafts for the St. Mary's Scholarship Fund and was active with Juvae Jazz Society. She was a member of Staley Retirees Club, Staley Women's Club, 50 year member of Eastern Star and was Secretary for the Leedstown Association. She was fondly remembered for her wonderful pies, cakes, cookies and peanut brittle. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Carmichael and husband Paul of Lindenwood, IL; granddaughter Sarah Carmichael and great granddaughter Emma Carmichael, both of Dekalb, IL; sister-in-law Shirley Allen of Moweaqua, IL; brother-in-law Baird (Rosie) Boyer of Arcola, IL; and several nieces and nephews who were all very special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Donald. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Wade, the nurses at Cancer Care Specialists, DMH Hospice and Judy and Jamie, for all their wonderful care and compassion. "
