Beverly Louise Funk Dexter Bonds (Beebe), 80, of Decatur, passed away at dawn Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Born August 5, 1932 to E. Richard and Sona Funk, she was raised in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High in 1950. She married Major Herbert J. Dexter on September 18, 1952 and with him had five children, Vicki, Lynn, Jay, Diane and Doug. He preceded her in death in 1965. On January 6, 1986 she married L. Neal Bonds, with whom she shared over twenty-five years of marriage. Beverly owned and operated The Party Shop downtown, moving to Haines & Essick's in 1992 where she enjoyed working in the toy department. An avid reader, she passed her love of reading on to her children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, friend and grandmother and loved all the news of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Neal; children Vicki (Charlie) McGorray; Lynn (Jeff) Roncalli; Jay (Sandy) Dexter; Diane (Matt) Andrick; Doug (Michelle) Dexter; grandchildren Mike (Abby) Ward; Susan Dexter and fiance' Brent Shields; Samantha (Matt) Carroll; Abby Andrick; Daniel Dexter and fiancee' Emma Falconer; Corbin Andrick; Sarah Dexter; Macklin Andrick; Alex Dexter; Alana Dexter, Joshua Dexter, Julia Dexter and lifelong friend Mary Ann Grohne.
