Betty Webb-Larus

Betty J. Webb-Larus, 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. The family requests casual attire. Betty was born September 20, 1934, in Decatur, the daughter of Lloyd Ivan and Maude Lucille (Holman) Webb. She married Stanley M. Larus on October 23, 1966, in Decatur. Betty was a 1953 graduate of Niantic-Harristown High School. She was always a hard worker. She worked at G.E. for ten years, leaving the plant when they shut down. She then had various office and sales work until she started at the Decatur Township office in 1982. She retired from there after 25 years of service. Betty liked to play Bingo, go to the riverboat, cooking and going to flea markets. She was very devoted to her family and pets. She attended New Beginnings Church of God. Surviving are her children Debra A. Fields and husband Darrell of Decatur; Gary L. Cole of Decatur, Charles "Chuck" E. Cole of Maroa, Barbara J. of Decatur; granddaughters Dana Jones and husband Eric of Cerro Gordo, Dara Baker and husband Travis of Decatur; great-grandchildren Derek Jones of Cerro Gordo, Alana Baker of Decatur; brother Lloyd Webb of Decatur; sisters Rose Porter and Barbara Webb both of Virginia; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, or Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
