Betty Jane Tolladay, 89, of Decatur, IL. died at 10:00 A.M. Sunday (04-11-2010) in Fair Havens Christian Home.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday (04-14-2010) at Central Christian Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday (04-13-2010) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Central Christian Church.Betty was born July 2, 1920, in Decatur, IL., the eldest daughter of Haven L. And Lucinda Ruth Chenoweth Walker. She married Louis J. Tolladay January 15, 1966. He passed away on January 23, 1999. Betty worked in the office of the Mueller Company for 40 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Central Christian Church, sang in the choir and a member of the Keystone Class. She loved her church and joined the North Fork Presbyterian Church as a younger woman on December 31, 1939. Later the Bethlehem Presbyterian and sang in the choir. Betty enjoyed bowling and at one time was President of the Decatur Womens Bowling League. She volunteered at the Fair Havens Christian Home until her health failed. Surviving are her step-sons: Roger (Debbie) Tolladay of Springfield, TN., David (Jennifer) Tolladay of Decatur, IL., step-grandchildren: Roger Allan (Jennifer) Tolladay, Donald and Chris (Heather) Barbee, Jeremy (Krissy) Tolladay, Heather Tolladay, Gail (John) Bray, 8 step-great-grandchildren, Brothers and sisters: William Red (Dora) Walker of Colorado Springs, CO., Alice Walker Bray (George)of Decatur, IL., Haven Shorty Walker (Barbara) of Colorado Springs, CO., Maybelle Walker Williams of Chilicothe, IL. Sandra Walker (Joseph) of Mt. Zion, IL. Don Walker (Eleanor) of Niantic, IL. Roy Walker (Pam) of Decatur, IL., many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, mother -in-law Sarah Tolladay, step-son Douglas, brother Joseph (Joe) Walker, Sr., nephew Billy Walker, Nephew John Walker, Brother-in-law John Williams.Betty dearly loved all her family and friends. She will be missed, but fought the good fight. Thank you Betty for taking care of all of us kids when we were very young and even older.The family would like to thank all the nurses and care givers on station 2 at Fair Havens Christian Home, who lovingly took care of her. "
