Betty R. Shambaugh, 94 years old, passed away on March 7, 2024.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Cerro Gordo Cemetery, in Cerro Gordo, IL. Betty was born on July 27, 1929 in Decatur, IL to John K. Eads and Pearl (Bell) Eads. She married L. Lehman Shambaugh on June 5, 1950.

Betty was Sr. Vice President and Board Member of The American Bank, presently The State Bank of Bement (Cerro Gordo Branch). She was on the Piatt County Cancer Board and very active in the Relay for Life. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star and The Oakley Brick Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her children: Vicki Shambaugh of Hawaii, Laura (Tim) Hoffman of Oakley; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Shambaugh of Lovington; 4 grandchildren: Alex Hoffman, Samantha Evans, Sarah (Buddy) Copeland, and Kendra (Aaron) Abner; 6 great-grandchildren; along with her brother, Rodger L. Eads.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lehman; son, Gary Shambaugh; and sister, Alice Wayne.
