Betty Harmison

Betty J. Harmison, 89, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Salvation Army. Betty was born June 25, 1925 in Urbana, IL, the daughter of John W. and Josephine (Potts) Peters. She married Dean Wendell Harmison on August 18, 1943 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on February 29, 2000. Betty was a member of Rock Springs Church of God and was involved in many church activities. She retired from General Electric after many years of service. Betty enjoyed going to church and her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Tehron Harmison and wife Opal of Deer Park, WA, Darlene Young and husband Larry of Decatur, IL, Glen Harmison and wife Debbie of Dallas, OR, John Harmison and wife Ruth of Clinton, IL; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and eight sisters. The family would like to thank the Doctors and 6th floor Nurses at St. Mary's Hospital for all their care given to Betty. "
