Betty Carr

Betty Ann Carr, 86, of Niantic, IL, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at McKinley Court Care Center, Decatur, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Graveside service will be at Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Betty was born September 5, 1928 in Niantic, IL, the daughter of Daniel Hugh and Mary (McGee) Ervin. She married Carl Carr on July 1, 1950 in Niantic, IL. Betty was a member of Resurrection Parish in Illiopolis, IL and the Alter Society. She worked at the State Bank of Niantic for 13 years. Betty was a Girl Scout Leader for several years and enjoyed sewing. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Carl Leonard Carr of Niantic, IL; son: Dan Carr and grandchildren: Katie, Michael and Betsy Carr; daughter: Carlene Newbanks and grandson Brandon Newbanks and wife Jill; great-granddaughters: Cali, Cami and Cassi. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary. "
