Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 15, 2011, at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Amaranth Diabetes Research. Betty was born November 14, 1954 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of George William Sr. and Alice Amy (Roney) Bond. She worked as a library clerk for Illinois State University in Normal, IL for many years, retiring in December 2009. Betty was a past Grand Royal Matron of the Order of Amaranth of Illinois and past Worthy High Priestest of the Mecca Shrine #53 in Decatur, IL. She is survived by her mother, Alice A. Roach of Mt. Zion, IL; sister, Mary Schwartz of Benicia, CA; brother, George Bond and wife, Marle of Latham, IL; step brothers, James Roach and wife, Billie of Decatur, IL, and Donald Roach and wife, Shirley of Missouri; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, George W. Bond, Sr. "
