Berniece Reita Derr, 78, of Decatur, IL, rejoined with her brothers, parents, and grandparents in Heaven, on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 28, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 4 to 6 P.M., Sunday, January 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be made to The Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo or Donor's Choice. Berniece was born February 28, 1934, in Watson, IL, the daughter of William and Carrie (Campbell) Hays. She married Byron Derr on November 24, 1976 in Decatur, IL. Berniece was a member of The Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo. She worked at Kopetz Manufacturing in Decatur as a bookkeeper, Marvel Schebler in Decatur at the plant, and also at Dave's Electric Co. in Kodak, Tennessee. Berniece enjoyed bowling with the "Sunshiners" at Pla-Mor Lanes, counted cross-stitch, and cooking. She was also a devoted U of I basketball fan. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Byron of Decatur, IL; son Roger Allen of Garden City, GA; daughters Brenda Burwell (Jim) of Decatur, Cheryl Wiseley (Terry)of Decatur; stepdaughter Robin Trelz (Kent) of Decatur; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; sisters Sarah Fitts of Lake Wales, FL, Jo Fox (Jack) of Kodak, TN, Dixie Covington (Don) of Galva, KS, Willene Nichols (Bob) of Galva, KS; brother Ray Hays (Pam) of Bethany, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Clyde, Gene, Victor, and stepson Rodney. "
