Bernidean Rush

Bernidean Rush, 87, of Stanford, KY passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00am at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Bernidean was born on June 17, 1931, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Bill and Odean (Cripe) Gelsinger. She married Lawrence F. Rush, Sr., on September 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2000. Bernidean worked as a cook for Caterpillar Tractor Co., for 20 years. She was a member of First Pilgrim Holiness Church in Decatur. Surviving are her five children; Shirley Ping of Las Vegas, NV; Lawrence F. Rush, Jr. of Springfield, IL; Barbara Gobel of Lincoln, IL; Ron (Janet) Rush of Stanford, KY; and Mary F. Rush of Decatur, IL; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers; Bill Gelsinger of Decatur, IL; Bud Gelsinger of Vandalia, IL; and Jim Gelsinger of Centralia, IL. Bernidean is also survived by three sisters; Ruth Ann Shipley, Rose Case and Lois Finaly. Bernidean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters Flossie, Ella, and Esther and one granddaughter.
