Beatrice A Joynt was born February 13, 1919 in Decatur, IL to Harland and Dessie (Clements) Himstead. She died on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, two days after her 98th birthday, at Imboden Creek Living Center.A private family graveside service will be held at Zion Cemetery, Boody, IL.Bea lived her entire life in Decatur. She was married to George Harshbarger in 1937, until his death in 1939. They had one son, H Lewis Harshbarger. In 1940 she married John J Smith. He died in 1971. Bea was married to Paul Joynt from 1977 until his death in 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She spent many years volunteering at Decatur Memorial. Bea enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with her family.Grateful for having shared her life are grandchildren John (Rhonda) Harshbarger of Arvada, CO, Kathy (Scott) Carswell of Merritt Island, FL, Andrea (Laszlo) Palos of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter-in-law Nita (Larry) Gray of Bandera, TX; great-grandchildren Heather (Bryan) Schumm, Amanda (Doug) Trainer, Michele (Derek Mattesich) Gray, Andrew, Matt and Ben Harshbarger, Sienna, Emilia & Avery Palos; great great-grandchildren Mikayla and Caroline Schumm, Michaela and Charlotte Trainer, Allie Mattesich; and dear friend, Kim Goodbraker.Her parents, three husbands, and her son preceded Bea in death.Memorials can be directed to First United Methodist Church or the Decatur Macon County Senior Center. "
