Ashley Collins

Ashley Rebecca Collins, age 39, passed away on October 18, 2025, in Decatur, Illinois. Born September 18, 1986, Ashley was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Ashley is survived by her children, Terrenten (Emily) Collins and Tristan “BUBBY” Collins-Buckley; granddaughter Lailani Collins; parents, Steve and Becky Collins; siblings Chelsey Collins and Zach (Sarah) Collins, father of her children Terraneous Buckley, and countless other friends and family members. Ashley loved her family fiercely and would proudly show off pictures of her children and granddaughter to anyone she could.

Ashley loved spending time on Lake Decatur, sunbathing, boating, and listening to music from the Devon Amphitheater. Quick to laugh, Ashley loved animals and animal videos, once declaring that she followed “not your average house pig!” Ashley loved dogs most of all and spent many nights cuddled up with her family dog, Moose.

A proud member of the UAW Local 751, Ashley served as a Union Stewart, Co-chair of the Women’s Committee, and as an Alternate Committeeman. She especially enjoyed spending time organizing events that benefitted the Special Olympics and Webster Cantrell Hall. A life-long Decatur resident, Ashley graduated from Eisenhower in 2005 where she lettered as a varsity athlete for three years for basketball and all four years for volleyball.

Ashley’s family would like to invite all who knew and cared for Ashley to join them in celebrating her life on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home (2827 N Oakland Avenue Decatur, IL 62526). Donations honoring Ashley can be made to Make a Wish Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
