Arthur Birt Modlin, 54, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Private services for family and friends will be held. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospital, Humane Society of Macon County, or First Lutheran Church. Arthur was born April 22, 1958 in Decatur, IL, the son of William and Barbara (Birt) Modlin. He is survived by his parents, one nephew, Christopher Dane Modlin of Sullivan, IL, and two nieces and cousins. Arthur's family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the Intensive Care staff and the Chaplain Care staff, especially Paula of St. Mary's Hospital for their devoted care for Arthur during his illness.
