Arlone (Deardorff) Ritter Dalluge, 98, of Decatur, passed away peacefully, April 7, 2024, surrounded by her family.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 15, 2024, at Central Christian Church, Decatur. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Private family burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL. Memorials in Arlone’s honor may be made to: Central Christian Church or Blue Mound Memorial Library.
Arlone was born August 11, 1925 in Morrisonville to Earl and Myrtle Kent Deardorff. She grew up and attended schools in Morrisonville.
Arlone was married March 2, 1947 to William Harold Ritter of Blue Mound. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1972. Arlone remained living in Blue Mound until 2003. On May 17, 2003 she married G. Glen Dalluge and they lived in Manhattan KS before returning to Decatur IL in 2005. Her husband Glen survives.
Arlone was a secretary at A. E. Staley Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1983, and then she was office secretary for 5 years at Blue Mound First Christian Church. She was a 50 year member of the First Christian Church and was active as a Sunday School Teacher, general board member and chancel choir member. Arlone also became a member of Central Christian Church in Decatur. She was a life member of the Decatur Quilters Guild and a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
From her marriage to William Ritter, Arlone leaves two children, Nancy Ritter Hanover of Mt. Zion and Thomas W. Ritter (Diana) of Blue Mound. Arlone leaves behind five grandchildren: Kristen (Jonas) Covey of Brentwood, TN, Jeff Hanover (Chris) of Normal IL, Cory (Jan) Ritter of Blue Mound, Cole (Ashleigh) Ritter of Indianapolis, IN, and Cale Ritter of Denver CO. Arlone also leaves six great grandchildren: Mark Covey, Addison Covey, Celia Ritter, Harper Ritter, Reece Ritter and Ryden Ritter.
Arlone leaves three stepsons: Paul (Maurine) Dalluge of Marshalltown, IA, Mike Dalluge ofSpringfield IL, and Steve Dalluge of Wichita, KS. Step grandsons are James (Kathryn), Robert (Emily), Derek (Danielle) and Kyle Dalluge.
Arlone also leaves nieces and nephews who were special to her.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents and parents, her first husband Wm. Ritter, brotherRobert Deardorff, sister Norma Williams, and son-in-law Mark Hanover.
