Anthony J. “A.Jay” Vossos, 45, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be arranged after the service. Memorials in his honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
A.Jay was born on September 15, 1980, to Frank and Teresa (Kates) Vossos Jr. He attended St. Teresa High School in Decatur.
He dedicated more than 20 years to Kates Tax Service as a tax preparer, proudly representing the third generation of his family to work in the business. He loved his work and cherished the relationships he built with his clients. Family was deeply important to him—he especially enjoyed family kickball games, gatherings, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
A.Jay is survived by his parents, Frank and Teresa Vossos Jr. of Decatur; his sister, Heather (Mike) Speagle of Argenta; and his nieces and nephews, Cadence Speagle, Caleb Speagle, Peyton Speagle, Logan Grunden, and Rylyn Grunden. He is also remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who meant the world to him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Peter and Isabell “Bell” Kates; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Agnus Vossos Sr.; his uncle, Jon Kates; and his dog Remy.
