Ann Hooge, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away 10:25 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at GT Church in Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 2, at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to GT Church. Ann was born November 3, 1928 in rural Macon County, the daughter of Wesley and Rena (Moore) Dunham. While attending Maroa High School, she was a member of the "Buzzin Dozen". She married John F. Hooge on January 2, 1949. While her children were growing up, she was an active member of the P.T.A. and served as President. She worked 40 years in retail for Sears before retiring. She loved planting and tending her flowers. Also, she was a life long fan of the "Fighting Illini" and St. Louis Cardinals. Ann was intimately involved in the lives of her grandchildren, never missing any significant event they were a part of. A member of GT Church, Ann loved greeting all who came through the door. At New Life Alliance Church, she was the event coordinator and served the Lord faithfully in this capacity. She is survived by her children Toni (Martin) Dial of Decatur, John Michael "Mike" (Linda) Hooge of Decatur, Pamela (Gordon) Speagle of Decatur, Eric (Margaret) Hooge of Morton, IL; grandchildren Christopher Dial, Amy (Jeremy) Carter, Megan Dial (Jason Morrison), Gordon Speagle, Jr., Melissa (Matt) Tipton, Jonathan Speagle; great grandchildren Zander Morrison, Lilly Morrison, Camille Speagle, Elijah Tipton, Isabella Tipton, Olivia Tipton, Greyson Dial; brother Harold (Joyce) Dunham of Maroa, IL; sister Mary Weikel of Clinton, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert, sister Betty, and son-in-law Martin Dial. The family would like to say a special "thank-you" to the staff of Imboden Creek Living Center for their care and concern. "
