Angela Kefalas, 82, of Decatur, died Thursday, November 17, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital with her family by her side.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 21, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Sunday, November 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.Angela was born February 5, 1934, in Andros, Greece, the daughter of John and Irene (Genisis) Lafakis. She came to the US from Greece when she was a young teenager. Angela was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Swansea, and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Decatur. She was a frequent volunteer and cook at church. Angela was also a member of the Philoptohos Society at her church.She is survived by her husband Chris of Decatur; children, Bill (Gail) Kefalas of Decatur, Dr. John (Mary Jane) Kefalas of Decatur, and Mary (Matt) Minter of Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren, Eric (Tracy) Love, Emilie Kefalas, Annie Kefalas, Sarah Kefalas, Anna Minter, Christopher Minter, and John Minter; great grandchildren, Logan, Lana, and Lucas Love; brother Jim Lafakis of Overland Park, KS; sister Catherine Skordos of Fosterburg, IL.Angela was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters.
