Andrew J. Kellums (A.J.) of Decatur, IL passed away on December 13th, 2014 at the age of 83 in the care of the Heartland Healthcare Center from natural causes. Andrew was born on August 31st, 1931 in the town of Elvins, MO. He was one of four siblings born to Nottley Kellums and his wife, Ruby Umfleet. Stationed in England while actively serving in the Air Force during the Korean War as a radio operator, he met and married Wendy Pamela Clifton of Bedford, England on December 13th 1956. A.J. was a hardworking, kind, honest, simple man who worked as a terminal manager most of his career while ending his working career with the government working for the IRS. He enjoyed many things but got the most joy from watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and spending time with his family. He always had a deep love for his family and was a great role model to many. Even in his time of pain, he always made sure everyone else was well taken care of. He filled everyone around him with love, courage, strength, and guidance. He is an inspiration as a husband, brother, father, grandfather, and so much more. A. J. is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wendy Kellums (Clifton) of Decatur, IL, his brother Eugene and wife Bonnie Kellums of Arnold, Missouri, his two sons Mark Kellums of Decatur, IL and Gary Kellums of South Elgin, IL, daughter-in-law Shelly Kellums (Miller), his four grandchildren Eric, Alyssa, Devon, and Holly, along with his three great grandchildren Brooklyn, Chloe, and Noah, and his beloved four-legged companion, Shadow. The family would like to thank Heartland Healthcare Center for the extensive and caring services provided to Andrew, DaVita dialysis center for going above and beyond, as well as Decatur Memorial Hospital for the consistent and genuine care given by staff and Doctors. The family welcomes prayers as they grieve over the loss of a special man. A small private service was held for family at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral home led by Pastor Tony Caffey of Harvest Bible Chapel. "
