Amy Ann Aumann, 63, of Decatur, IL passed away May 14, 2026, at Lincolnshire Place.
She was born February 15, 1963, to Kenneth and Carol Jean (Ray) Aumann in Mattoon, IL. Amy and her parents moved to Decatur, IL when she was a very young child. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and then received her teaching degree from Eastern Illinois University. During her school years, she participated in jazz band, marching band, and enjoyed playing the trombone and guitar. She was president of Tau Beta Sigma for three years.
Amy retired after 23 years of teaching with Decatur Public Schools. She was a volunteer at Scovill Zoo for 25 years and fondly recalled many happy memories of time spent there. Amy was a woman of faith and was a member of First Christian Church.
Amy is survived by her mother, Carol Jean Aumann. She is preceded in death by her adored father, Kenneth Aumann.
Amy’s family would like to thank the loving and caring staff of Lincolnshire Place.
A graveside service will be held May 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Kettelkamp Cemetery, in Nokomis, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Amy’s honor may be made to Scovill Zoo, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
