Ames Sheldon Landrum, 44, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, at Church of Living God P.C.T. #2, 1003 W. Macon, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements.Ames was born June 15, 1972, in Decatur, IL, son of Al Jay Landrum, Jr. and Dorothy (Ross) Landrum.Ames was formerly employed at Kelly Potato Chip Co., Overland Park, KS and Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Kansas City, KS. and attended the Christ Church of Jesus Hour there, under the direction of Pastor Russell W. Davis. In Decatur, he became a member of the Church of the Living God, P.G.T. #2, in 2001, under the direction of Overseer Thomas Cooper.Surviving are his father: Al Jay Landrum, Jr. and wife Lula of Decatur, IL; mother: Dorothy Landrum of Decatur, IL; son: Ames Sheldon “A.J.” Landrum, Jr. of Kansas City, KS; brothers: Al Jay Landrum III and wife Rosalind of Killeen, TX, Courtney Landrum of Pittsburg, KS, Walter Landrum of Kansas City, KS, Tim Lee and wife Alisha of Sierra Vista, AZ; half sisters: Tamika Landrum of Decatur, IL, Theresa Landrum Caswell and husband Charles of Memphis, TN; half brother: Jason Landrum of Decatur, IL; cousins: Cynthia Dennis, Sheila Dennis, both of Decatur, IL, and many other cousins, aunts and uncles.Ames was preceded in death by his sister Yolonda Landrum and brother James Landrum.
