Alvera D. Becker, 98, of Decatur, IL passed away on April 16, 2019 at Imboden Creek Living Center. Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Monday, April 22, 2019, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation from 11:00 – 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to the Blue Mound School District. Alvera was born on June 9, 1920 in Cherokee, OK, the daughter of Franklin Grover and Cora Belle (Mann) Delano. She married Harry V. Becker on Oct. 4, 1945 in Minneola, KS and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1994. Alvera graduated from Millikin University in 1956 and was an elementary teacher in Blue Mound. She was a member of the Decatur Quilt Guild and Grace United Methodist Church. Alvera is survived by her three children; Ann (Jim) Winholtz of South Padre Island, TX, Barbara (Mark) Trebacz of Washington, MO, and Shelley Pressgrove of Decatur, IL. Also surviving are one brother, Farrell (Gene) Delano of Joplin, MO and two sisters; Dorothy “Dee” Houser of Livonia, MI, Kathryn Fedie of Neosho, MO, eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Alvera was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Frankie Lankford, Lavelle Betts, and Guila Wells, and great grandson, Brian Winholtz.
