Alva Niehart

Alva Ella Niehart, 99, of Decatur, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Lincoln Manor Healthcare, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. A graveside service will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Alva was born January 17, 1918 in Pana, the daughter of George “Dode” and Laveda Maria (Bair) Proffitt. She was a National Honor Society Graduate of Pana Township High School in the class of 1938. She married Everett Niehart on November 26, 1938 in Pana. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1995. She is survived by her niece Jacquelyn Neece of Decatur; great nephews Ted (Lisa Hensley) Keylon and Terry (Rory) Keylon. Alva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Everett; daughter, Barbara Madden; brother George Proffitt, Jr.; and sister, Arlene Neece. "
