Alta Joan Harmon, 78, of Decatur, IL, died 8:29 A.M., Friday, February 12, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital, Decatur, IL with her family by her side.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 P.M., Monday, February 15, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to United Baptist Church.Joan was born December 15, 1931, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Francis and Pearl (Moyer) Cunningham. She accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior at age 16. Joan married Bob Harmon, Sr. on April 8, 1951 at the West Decatur Church of God in Decatur, IL. Later in life, she purchased the Jesus Saves sign for the church.Joan was a member of United Baptist Church where she was the pianist for 18 years. She worked for Borg Warner for 37 years before retiring, then later for Climate Control. She was a 50 year member of the Warrensburg Eastern Star, where she was a 5 times Worthy Matron and the pianist for 40 years. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Sr., of Decatur, IL; son Bob (Barbara) Harmon Jr. of Decatur; grandsons Ben (Rebecca) Harmon and Zach Harmon, all of Decatur, IL; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Sandy (Marvin) Hilton of Decatur, IL, Kay Campbell of Harristown, IL; brothers Lou Moyer and Scott (Linda) Moyer, all of Decatur, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Patricia Ann Harmon, brother Jack Cunningham, brother-in-law Rev. Calvin Campbell. "
