Allen Weiss

Allen L. Al Weiss, 68, of Warrensburg, IL, died unexpectedly 2:05 P.M., Monday, April 7, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Memorial services will be 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund.Allen was born March 1, 1940, in Olney, IL, the son of Howard and Eliza (Patterson) Weiss. He married Dana Beth Revelle on September 7, 1958 in Decatur, IL. Allen was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a former Trustee. He was President of Teamsters Local 279 and previously drove for General Transfer and Wilson Freight. Allen was Secretary/Treasurer of Teamsters Joint Council #65 in Springfield; Lifetime Member of NRA; member of Warrensburg Sportsmans Club and Niantic and Decatur Sportsmans Club. He was former chairman of IL State Freight Committee and member of negotiating committee of National Master Freight agreement. Allen loved hunting and fishing. He loved and was proud of his entire family.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dana Beth of Warrensburg, IL; daughters Lori McCormick and husband Mike of Knoxville, TN, Kelly Franzen of Warrensburg, IL; grandchildren Matthew McCormick and Sarah McCormick of Knoxville, TN, Cassidy Franzen and Cameron Franzen of Warrensburg, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert D. Weiss. "
