Allan Gene Tipton, 53, of Decatur, IL, died 9:10 P.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Allan was born January 8, 1959 in Decatur, IL, the son of Howard Lee and Peggy Jane (Denton) Tipton. He worked as a fabricator at Hydrogear in Sullivan, IL. Allan loved being with family and friends, painting, bowling and reading. He is survived by his brother Bob (Ginny) Tipton of Assumption, IL; sister Kathy Tipton of Nashville, TN; brother Richard (Katie) Tipton of Decatur, IL; sister Rue Lynn (Lyle) Pugh of St. Charles, MO; sister Sandy Whitehurst of Springfield, IL; stepbrother Harold Hunnicutt of Gary, IN; stepsister Jeannie (Steve) Schaal of Decatur, IL; stepmother Maxine Tipton of Atwood, IL; 6 nephews, 3 great nieces, 1 great nephew and two friends who as as close as brothers, Dean and David Larrick. He was preceded in death by his parents. "
