Alice Stark

Alice M. Stark, 96, of Decatur, IL, passed away 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 11, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to United Way. Alice was born December 15, 1917 in West Lebanon, IN, the daughter of Leslie and Anna (Galloway) Jones. Her family moved to Decatur in 1924 where she spent the rest of her life. After her graduation from Decatur High School in 1935 she worked for 8 years at the Decatur Chamber of Commerce. Following that time, she was a partner with her father at Decatur Grain Inspection, Inc., and later with her son, John N. Humphrey. She retired in 1983. She married Harry N. Humphrey, Jr. in 1938 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death in 1961. She later married Roy K. Stark in 1968 in Decatur, IL and he preceded her in death in 1974. Alice was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a life member of Lambda Tau Delta and member of Chapter IFPEO. Alice enjoyed flowers, playing bridge, traveling, golfing and reading. She is survived by her son John N. Humphrey of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Eric N. Humphrey and wife Selena of Osceola, IA, Andrea Ramirez of Indianapolis, IN, Leslie Reveles and husband Ivan of Indianapolis, IN; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands. "
