Alice Brooks

Alice E. Brooks, 88, of Oreana, IL, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at her residence. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Central Christian Church, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or D.O.V.E. Alice was born October 2, 1924, the daughter of William I. and Lorraine F. (Hirsch) Oldweiler. She married Warren G. Brooks on September 23, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2007. Alice was a member and Elder Emeritus of Central Christian Church. She worked for A.E. Staley Company as a secretary of Human Resources and apprentice training, retiring in 1979, and later became a missionary to Swaziland, Africa in 1984-1986. She was a dedicated member of Pieces of Love of Decatur and DOVE, and a honored member of Eureka's Presidential Donation Board. She is survived by her children Bonnie Gawthorp of Decatur, IL, Toni Faust and husband Ron of Gladstone, MO, Joyce "Jody" Elaine Sanders and husband Tom of Carson City, NV, Steven Warren Brooks and wife Barbara of Decatur, IL; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister Joyce M. Hullinger of Oreana, IL., sister-in-law Lori Oldweiler of Oreana, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband "Brooksie", parents, brothers Bill and George, and sister Martha Ellen Fandel. "
