Aldin James Curry, 67, of Decatur, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at his residence. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Aldin was born September 10, 1946, in Decatur, the son of John Thomas and Kathryn D. (Barding) Curry. He married Barbara Roach in October 1965. He later married Connie S. Moore on August 14, 1999. Aldin was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He worked for many years for A.E. Staley and Zexel, and also worked for Firestone. Surviving are his wife Connie of Decatur, IL; son James B. Curry and wife Kristi of Decatur, IL; daughter Gina A. Coogan and husband Sean of Blue Mound, IL; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers Danny Curry of Alexandria, VA, and Donny Wayne Curry and wife Mary Ann of Decatur, IL. Aldin was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Alice and Arlene, and brothers Tom and Raymond. Aldin enjoyed his dogs and birds, crappie fishing, mushroom hunting, and cold beer. "
