A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.Albert was born on January 14, 1917, in West New York, New Jersey, the son of John and Elsie (Bennett) Davis. He married Alice Liljenstein on October 24, 1942 in New London, CT.Albert previously worked for General Dynamics. While working at General Dynamics, Albert help build the first atomic submarine, the Nautilus. He also worked for Pratt & Whitney for many years, retiring in 1980. Albert owned and operated a nursery for many years and truly enjoyed horticulture. He enjoyed camping and one of his proudest achievements was hiking the Appalachian Trail.Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Alice of Decatur, IL; daughter Linnea Harris (Robert) of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Lynn Eades (Rick) of Decatur, IL, Kristin Dempster (David) of Fulton, MO, Karl Harris (Michelle) of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren Christopher Finley, Kolton, Kayleigh, Karley Harris; and nephew Glenn Davis of East Hartford, CT.Albert was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Davis, and one brother, John. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Jordan Mutual Cemetery, Waterford, CT. "
