Albert Carter

Albert L. Carter, 92, of Decatur, IL, died 12:20 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Heartland Manor Care, Decatur, IL. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (August 18, 2012) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Park, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Albert was born November 30, 1919, in Buffalo, IL, the son of George and Edna (Strobe) Carter. He married Bettie Sue (Franz) Musson on June 2, 1962 at Westside Christian Church in Springfield, IL. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2010. Albert graduated with honors from University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering and worked for IL Power for 40 years before retiring. He was a member of A.I.E.E. and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII. Albert enjoyed working as a handyman and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his sons Stephen (Ruth) Carter of Burlington, KY and Greg (Jo) Carter of Decatur, IL, Robert Musson of Gaithersburg, MD, and Michael (Mary) Musson of Ft. Wayne, IN; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bettie, first wife Francis Lauterbach Carter, son Marc Carter, grandson Kyle Carter, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. "
