Adrian “Jake” Albert, 102, of Bement, IL, formerly of Oakley, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 9 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am at Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will follow at Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials in (Name)’s honor may be made to Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church or the Cerro Gordo American Legion.
Jake was born on December 11, 1923 in Long Creek Township, the son of Earl Adrian and Thelma (Barnett) Albert. He married Lorraine Dobson on November 10, 1945 in Washington. DC and she preceded him in death on July 19, 2015.
Jake served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years. He was a member of Cerro Gordo United Methodist church and the Cerro Gordo American Legion. He and his wife Lorraine enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Jake is survived by his children, Christine (husband Ron) Berbaum of North Carolina, Arlone Doan of Arthur, IL, and Mark Albert of Oakley, IL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; his brother Carroll; his 3 sisters Betty, Beverly, and Sandy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents; his wife Lorraine; his siblings, Dale, Corwin, Bernard “Bud”, George, Gloria, and Eleanor; a grandson Bradley; and a son-in-law Bob Doan.
