Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.Ada was born January 5, 1920, in Harristown, IL, the daughter of Irvin and Nannie (Knisley) Barnes. She married Russell E. Patterson on February 22, 1936 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death.Ada worked for the War Plant in Illiopolis, Houdaille-Hershey and several pharmaceutical companies. The family enjoyed her great sense of humor, her stories and songs, her harmonica playing for family and grandchildren, and her great potato salad.She is survived by her children Patricia V. Hunt and husband Jim of Decatur, IL, Jeffrey E. Patterson of Forsyth, IL, Lisa A. Solares and husband Willy of Oakley, CA; daughter-in-law JoAnn Patterson of Niantic, IL; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother Teddy Barnes and wife Doris of Decatur, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, son Jerry, daughter Shirley, great grandsons Craig (C.J. ) Walker, Jr., great great grandson Gage Walker; 8 brothers and 4 sisters. "
