Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes: A History Rich in Service

From our founding as Brintlinger Funeral Home in 1883, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes has focused on service from the heart, while always developing new ways to serve the families who come to us—we've always been innovators.

We established that reputation early—after only six years of business, a newspaper reported that founder Daniel Brintlinger stocked "the very latest paraphernalia incident to the rites of burial." And, he was known for offering a comprehensive selection of wooden and metallic caskets, coffins, and sarcophagus burial robes.

After automobiles came about, Brintlinger arranged Macon County's first all-automobile funeral procession in 1913. It took eight touring cars and Brintlinger's ambulance 2 1/2 hours to make the 18-mile trip to Friends Creek Cemetery near Argenta, Illinois.

Brintlinger and Earl's innovations continued throughout the years:

  • First motorized coach funeral in Macon County
  • First home with all facilities on one floor
  • First grief recovery program
  • First home with an entire staff of licensed funeral insurance representatives and the first to offer funeral insurance
  • First funeral home to receive the Outstanding Small Business Award for Macon County

Since 1883, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes has provided innovations leading the funeral profession to new levels of service and compassion. We do this because we know the right service makes all the difference. And at Brintlinger and Earl, we're focused on service from the heart.
